‍Dear Visitor ‍

Mrs Greenham

The time finally came when we had to say the fondest of farewells to Mrs Greenham as she begins her very well deserved retirement. Mrs Greenham, affectionately known as Mrs G and the 'Boss Of The Wet Area', has been adored by staff and pupils for 17 years and whilst we are very sorry to see her go, we count ourselves very fortunate that Mrs Greenham had such a huge influence over so many children for so many years - we have been very lucky. In our celebrations on the last day of term, it was very clear that Mrs G holds a very special place in all of our hearts and I'm sure she will come back and visit (as well as sending us a selfie of her having breakfast in bed - courtesy of Mr Greenham - on our first day back in September).

Performance Data

Key Stage 2

Once again, outcomes for pupils at the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6) were significantly higher than local and national average in all subjects and for both measures of pupils achieving the expected standard and pupils acheiving the higher level.

‍Year 1 Phonics Screening Check and EYFS 'Good Level of Development' (GLD)

Following a review of the school Phonics provision which began in 2023, phonics results have improved on already high standards. In this year's phonics screening check, outcomes were very strong, with 94% of pupils passing the check.

In Early Years, 86% of pupils achieved a Good Level of Development (GLD) which greatly exceeds national data. Pupils must meet the set of criteria in each of the 17 areas of development to achieve GLD.

Goodbye And Good Luck To Year 6

‍And just like that, it was all over! Huge congratulations to all of our Year 6 pupils for your fantastic exam results and, more importantly, demonstrating what wonderful young people you have become. As I have said many times since the triip, it was a privilege taking such an amazing group to Cornwall - they are such brilliant children and all are ready for the next phase of their life. Leavers' Assembly on the penultimate day of term gave us the opportunity to celebrate the children's time at Grendon - a really special event with so much optimisim for the future. Thank you to Year 6 parents for your support over the years and also for your very generous gift of a new playground bench.
