Dear Visitor

‍Dancing Schools UK

Miss Steed's dancers performed brilliantly at the Dancing Schools UK competition last weekend. Here they are looking very smart and ready to go!

Life Education Visit

Pamela Jennings from Life Education visited school this week and delivered immersive and interactive workshops to each class.

  • Willow Class 'The Brain: Calming The Busy Mind'
  • Pine Class - 'Protecting Myself: Body And Mind'
  • Cedar Class - 'Taking Care Of Our Feelings'
  • Oak Class - 'Bouncing Back'

‍Pupil Profiles

Please take some time over Easter to share your child's Pupil Profile with them. I have read and commented on them all and am always so happy to see the children's progress and read the pupils' and teachers' comments. Every single Pupil Profile is positive and all were a pleasure to read.

Thank you to our Year 6s for their amazing work guiding children through the Pupil Mentoring programme, the outcomes of which are shared in your child's Pupil Profile.

Social Enterprise

Scarlett decided to organise two competitions to raise money for our Social Enterprise in Senegal.  Saraiya correctly guessed that the name of the squishmallow is Dusty and Joss was closest to guessing the number of sweets in the jar. A grand total of £43.70 was raised and this money is already on the way to Cherif, the chicken farmer. A wonderful example of 'courageous advocacy' and making a difference in the world!

Toilet Training

An increasing number of children are starting our nursery and reception not able to use the toilet. If your child has started in Early Years and isn't yet toilet trained, please continue to support them to learn this vital skill. It is so important for their 'school readiness' and the Easter break will provide a good opportunity for parents to help their child learn, practise and consolidate this.

A link is included here with advice on toilet training. There is also a leaflet here on Starting Reception which gives information on helping children with 'school readiness'.

Experience Easter

If you were able to join us for our Easter service last week, you may remember children in Willow Class sharing the prayers they had written in response to the Stations of the Cross. This week, Deborah Rush, has very kindly built on this work to lead workshops in church for Cedar, Pine and Willow Class.

‍Royal Celebration

Early Years enjoyed a very special royal celebration as part of their work on London. They ate jam tarts, made paper chains, wore crowns and much more for their afternoon tea.

No Vaping Or Smoking

The entire school site is a no smoking and no vaping zone. The school has received more than one report of vaping on school site and so please help us to keep our school smoke and vape free.

FOGS

Many thanks to FOGS for organising the Easter Fayre this week. There was a great response to the Fayre and to the competitions, with prizes awarded in school this morning.
