Dear Visitor

Residential Information Meetings

There will be plenty of time in school for staff to talk to children about the residential trips planned for later in the term. There will also be information meetings for parents to hear about the itinerary, kit list, travel arrangements and so on - details below. The meetings are very informal and allow time for questions.

Year 4 Residential Meeting - Tuesday 19th May at 3.45pm in Pine Class

Year 6 Residential Meeting - Wednesday 20th May at 3.45pm in Pine Class

Parents' Evening

Parents' evening will take place on Monday 27th and Wednesday 29th April. Children's work will also be available to look at. Letters will be sent home today - please complete and return the reply slip by Tuesday 21st April.

'Grendon Runners' Club - 2026 TCS Mini London Marathon In Schools

The school signed up for the TCS Mini London Marathon In Schools where children face the challenge of running, jogging or walking 2 miles. Our Grendon Runners Club leaders will be running this event.

I will speak to the children in Collective Worship about the London Marathon and the amazing fundraising efforts of many of the participants which links well to our school value of kindess. Many of the children know someone who is taking part in the race on Sunday 26th April.

Taking part in our mini marathon in school is completely voluntary. Covering 2 miles is not a challenge to be taken lightly - the distance equates to 10 continuous laps of the playing field and children will be able to run, jog or walk.

The event will take place on Tuesday 21st April. Children will be in PE kit anyway on this day and they can decide on the day whether they would like to take part. If they start the challenge but decide part way through that it is a bit too far, they can obviously choose to stop and will rejoin the PE lesson that will be taking place at the same time.

Many children seem to be very keen to give it a go!

‍Summer Show

We have a provision Summer Show date of Wednesday 8th July. The show will once again be held at Wollaston School in the evening and follows the sold out performance of Frozen last year. No more additional information is available at this point but will be shared closer to the time. For now, just make a note of the date.

Reminders

  • Please allow your child to go into their classroom independently in the mornings - parents should not come into the classroom. Children are all very familiar with the morning routines and are involved in activities and interventions almost from the minute they arrive in class. Staff are also teaching from 8.45am each morning. The Home Communication Policy explains the best way to pass information to school or to arrange a meeting with your child's teacher.
  • On colder days, children are allowed to wear joggers and a long sleeved top but please ensure that these are dark coloured and plain.
