  Hello Visitor,

Covid-19 Update

The outbreak in Cedar Class has passed and rates of Covid elsewhere in the school are currently low. Apart from a small number of cases elsewhere in school, the outbreak was successfully contained and class bubbles and restrictions on movements around school have been removed today. Thank you for your support in mitigating the infection risk. Please also continue to observe the Parent Information.

Miss Sim

I am very sorry to report that Miss Sim will be leaving us at the end of this half term. Although Miss Sim has various roles in school, she has been predominantly based with our current Year 6 cohort and has seen those children through from their first days in Reception to the current point in their education where they will soon be embarking on their next challenges. Needless to say, she has formed a particularly strong bond with these children who I know will be very sad to see her go, as will staff and the other pupils in school. On behalf of the school, I would like to thank Miss Sim for the dedication she has shown to her role at Grendon and for the positive impact she has had on the school over many years. I wish her all the best in her new role.

After half-term, Mrs Blacklee will be joining our staff team following a successful recruitment process last week - she will be taking on the majority of Miss Sim's role and our transition work is already well underway.

School Uniform

We have noticed that a small number of children are taking quite a creative approach to their choice of school uniform. There has been an increase in pupils wearing trainers on non-PE days and several other random items of clothing are appearing in classrooms. The school is very accommodating of situations where broken or outgrown school shoes mean that trainers are worn as an emergency for a day or two - if you find yourself in that situation, please let us know that is the case. Apart from school shoe disasters, though, please do not send your child to school in trainers.

School uniform generally consists of greys and whites/royal blues. You can buy the 'official' items from the uniform shop, pick up non-branded equivalents in supermarkets or recycle clothing from an older sibling. Failing that, school will help you source an item - all we insist is that pupils stick to plain, school colours.

On PE days, we like children to be comfortable and warm and encourage them to wear plain, dark coloured tracksuits on colder days. Standard items of PE kit for the rest of the year should follow the school colours - white or royal blue shirts, please.
